Meet Lacie McAbee, DNP, PMHNP

Doctor of Nursing Practice
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I am a functional and integrative psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who will treat you as a whole person - mind, body, and soul. I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach to mental health care.  I work with adults 18-64 years old.  My focus areas are anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.  I particularly enjoy working with first responders who have experienced trauma.  As a former paramedic, I have a strong connection with and deep respect for first responders, and I understand the unique pressures of their roles.

I approach goal-setting as a collaborative process, guided by what's most important to you. Together, we identify specific, realistic goals that align with your values and daily life - whether it's improving sleep, managing anxiety, returning to work, or whatever goals you may have.

Medication Management

Integrative psychiatry isn’t anti-medication — it’s about finding the right balance. I work with you to identify the most effective medication regimen with the fewest side effects, while also incorporating holistic approaches that can support your well-being and may reduce your reliance on medication over time.

Psychotherapy

In our work together, I draw from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. But more than the techniques, what matters most is that I begin by truly listening to your story. From there, I gently guide you with supportive, practical tools to help you understand yourself more deeply and begin to let go of the patterns that may be holding you back.

Life Coaching

The right medication can make a big difference—but it works best when paired with healthy habits like good sleep, nourishing food, and regular movement. Changing habits isn’t easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’ll help you take small, powerful steps that build momentum and lead to big, lasting changes in your mental health and overall well-being.

Herbal & Plant-Based Medicine

Prescription medications aren’t the only molecules that influence the brain pathways involved in mood and emotional balance. I can work with you to incorporate targeted nutritional supplements and plant-based medicines to help you feel your best. If you’re already taking supplements, I can help fine-tune your regimen—making sure you’re using the right supplements, in the right form, at the right dose—while also checking for any potential interactions with your medications to keep everything working safely and effectively together.

Pharmacogenetic Testing

Every body and mind is unique, and growing research shows that our genes can play a powerful role in how we respond to treatment. Through genetic testing, I can gain insight into your individual predispositions, anticipate how you might respond to certain medications, and tailor your treatment plan to better support your mental health.

Therapeutic Diets

What we eat can significantly influence how we feel—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Some people have food sensitivities they may not even be aware of, which can quietly impact mood and well-being. I can help guide you through therapeutic approaches like the Elimination Diet to identify potential triggers and support you in making dietary changes that enhance your overall health.
